Frequently asked questions
Open the Rada app and tap the Routes tab at the bottom of the screen. Tap Add Route, then either search for a start and end point or draw your route directly on the map. Give it a name (e.g. "Morning CBD run") and tap Save. Rada will begin monitoring that route for incidents immediately. Free accounts can save up to 3 routes; Premium accounts have no limit.
Tap the + button on the map screen. A pin will drop at your current location — drag it to the exact incident location if needed. Choose an incident category (Accident, Roadwork, Congestion, Hazard, Road Closure, or Roadside Activity), add an optional description, and tap Report. The report goes live instantly and notifies all drivers with that road on their saved routes.
Rada Premium (KES 250/month) gives you: no banner ads, unlimited saved routes (vs. 3 on Free), and full access to all features as they launch. You can subscribe via M-Pesa STK Push or Google Play in-app purchase and cancel at any time from your account settings or the Play Store.
In the app, go to Account → Upgrade to Premium and choose Pay with M-Pesa. Enter your M-Pesa number and tap Subscribe. You will receive an STK Push prompt on your phone — enter your M-Pesa PIN to confirm. Your Premium access activates within a few seconds of payment. Subscriptions renew automatically each month; you will receive an M-Pesa notification before each renewal.
M-Pesa subscribers: Go to Account → Subscription → Cancel inside the Rada app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Premium access until then.
Google Play subscribers: Open the Google Play Store, go to Subscriptions, find Rada, and tap Cancel subscription. No refunds are issued for the remaining days of a paid period.
Google Play subscribers: Open the Google Play Store, go to Subscriptions, find Rada, and tap Cancel subscription. No refunds are issued for the remaining days of a paid period.
Check the following in order:
- Open Android Settings → Apps → Rada → Notifications and confirm notifications are enabled.
- In the Rada app, go to Account → Notifications and ensure route alerts are turned on.
- Make sure you have at least one saved route — notifications only fire for incidents on your routes.
- Check that battery optimisation is not blocking Rada in the background (Settings → Battery → App optimisation → Rada → Don't optimise).
All incident reports automatically expire after 2 hours. This keeps the map clean and ensures only relevant, current incidents are visible. Drivers can also comment "Cleared" on a report to signal it has been resolved before the 2-hour window is up.
No. Rada uses your device's GPS only to position the incident pin when you file a report. Your precise location is not stored on our servers, not transmitted to third parties, and not tracked continuously. We store only the location of the incident pin you place — not where you were standing when you placed it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
